Phister Shower Valve Issues

Is this installed incorrectly? Should it be a quarter turn counter-clockwise?

It may work, but the trim cannot be oriented as designed...it will be 90-degrees clockwise from how it is supposed to be.

It looks like it need to go counter clockwise.
It most likely will need to be cut and and redone.

I was able to access the back of the shower through my storage space. I unhooked all the lines, rotated 90 degrees counter, and hooked all the lines back up. It works!!
