We currently live in a rich soil/sand/clay area in southern NJ with a typical septic system. We are looking to build in Sparta NJ, which is a hilly, very rocky area. The lot we are looking at is sloped (about 50' drop over 250' front to back)

Will the type of geology change the type of septic system needed or just the expense due to additional excavation efforts? While driving around, I have not noticed mound systems, or they are well hidden through creative grading.

Thanks for any advice/input you can provide.
