I have a 30/50 1hp HydroGlass(Sears) pump sitting on a tank in my basement. I am looking for a replacement that is alot quieter, as this one fairly loud. It has been pretty noisy as long as I can remember. Works good, but will come on every toilet flush. It kicks on at 30 and shuts off at 50 as it should. Pressure is fair, but of course not like city water. I am guessing it is atleast 25 years old or so. So, are there any pumps that are much quieter and perhaps perform better? Thanks, Jeff

All plastic pumps are noisey. I think Sears also sells a cast iron pump that is much quieter. If you prefer like city water pressure you might consider installing a Cycle Stop Valve and increasing your cutoff pressure a little.

Hey, wait a minute.

This is awkward, but...
