Low pitched hum in pipes going outside

Hi there!
I'm having a strange issue with my copper water piping in our cellar. We are on a well, so the water comes in and is split, with one side going to our filtration/softening system for inside water and the other side going to the outside faucet and irrigation system. The side going outside branches off to faucet, then has a separate valve which continues to the irrigation. We've had issues with the irrigation valve leaking, so in the winter I've been turning off the valve right where it splits at the main. It's been working fine until this spring. I turned on the water and irrigation system and then started noticing this low pitched hum coming from the cellar. Just loud enough to be completely irritating. I thought it was our radon mitigation fan for a few days (we'd had some rain), then tracked it down to the water pipe going outside. When I turn off that valve, the noise stops. Nothing seems to be leaking inside..small leak possible in one of the sprinkler boxes outside, but this seems unrelated.

Does this sound familiar to anyone? Is it a bad valve? Should I call sprinkler company or plumber? Anything I can check/do on my own with little to no plumbing experience?

Thank you for any help!!
