Our 23-year-old bathroom ceiling fan is noisy.
Can an inline fan be cut into the duct pipe in the attic below its roof vent?
The distance would also make it quieter in the bathroom.
The #14 gaugelectricable to the ceiling fan could be extended to the inline fan.
The ceiling fan motor and fan would be removed to not impede airflow.
The flapper valve would rema.in the housing. The ceiling cover attaches to the housing.

Thank you.

Absolutely, in-line fans are great.
Could not stand our noisy fan but it was so simple to cut in an in-line fan. Fantech is a good brand. The fan typically needs to be mounted to a rafter or joist or build to it. they come with not-so robust rubber mounting washers to isolate vibration.
You won't get "dead quiet" but it definitely will be a good improvement.

If you want quiet, try the Panasonic fans. Have had great luck with them. Use a time so you don't forget them on.

Good advice!
We have had some house fires attributed to vent fans left running.
A vacant house for sale on our street was discovered burning in the middle of the night.
By the time the fire was discovered, it was a totaloss.

Also I dislike having to return to the bathroom to turn the fan off.
