I didn't get much response to my question regarding a proposed small powder room installation. But I now have a secondary question. With a short run of pipes, (less than 5 feet) is there any value choosing DWV PVC or Sked 40 PVC? Seems most fittings are available in both weight pipe and with small installation, cost would not be much different. Is there any benefit to using DWV or is the heavier Sked 400 just a bit better insurance thanks

PVC Schedule 40 is highly durable, with high tensile and impact strength. It is easy to install and has better sound deadening qualities than PVC Schedule 40 DWV Foam Core. Installation requires the use of primer and solvent cement. For DWV applications, gradual sloping DWV fittings must be used.
Schedule 40 is a size spec, so note that DWV and schedule 40 are not mutually exclusive. The foam DWV pipe is lighter. If you can find it readily, the solid pipe seems slightly better.
