Good day
Thank you for this site its great. I am located in northern ontario. coldest temp with be -40f. My crawl space contains all my pex water lines. Pump and hot water tank is in the cottage. I would like to use the place in the winter on occasion only. I have intention of closing in the crawl space (26x26x2ft height) and insulate it if need be to shelter it from winds.
Question is do I heat trace my lines less insulation on perimeter walls
or
Heat the crawl space thermostatically at 36 to 40 degree F (baseboard heaters fasten to joists) to prevent water lines from freezing and leave pex lines as is. In this case i would be insulating the permimeter walls (vapor barrier and all) Help would be appreciated
