i just purchased a new piece of property with what appears to be a 2" well with jet pump. Please see attached photo. Any guess how deep this well is based on the head? do i have to use an injection pump? What is the best option to get the most water out of the ground?

Thank you

That is a casing adapter for a deep well jet pump. Makes me pretty sure the water is deeper than 25' but less than 200'. The packer in a deep well jet can be installed anywhere in between. To get more water you will need to find out if the pump or the well is the problem. If the well is good a larger pump will give you more water. If the well won't supply more water, a larger pump won't help.

Also need to determine if you need more water or just more pressure. If the pressure switch is set to 20/40 or 30/50, the first thing to do is try to adjust it up to at least 40/60.

Thank you for the reply, Currently there is leaking, noisey piece of crap pump attached with no pressure switch, i turn on the pump and out comes water however its not great, just enough to rinse off paint brushes, mix morter and wash your hands, I screwed a guage on the hose bib and it built up to 30 psi. What is the best option to test the output of this well? Should i purchase a 1 HP deep well jet pump, new tank and see what happens?
Thank you

I think you need to pull the well pipe and packer. See how deep it was set. Measure the well depth and water level. Then you can make a better guess at how large a pump to install.

looks like a lot of work to pull the packer, lots of rust on the bolts. If i choose to do so i will replace everything involved. Ill probably purchase a new pump and see what happens. Do you sell well equipment?

Thank you

Wouldn't hurt to start with a new pump. But the size of the ejector down the well needs to match the pump. So, getting a larger pump without getting a different packer would likely not work.

I sell the controls for the pump to make it deliver strong constant pressure to the house.

Consider a new well with a 5 inch (or 4 inch) pvc casing. Make sure the local driller knows how to avoid sand getting in.

A submersible pump is very quite and efficient.

This is a worthwhile property investment if this is your main house water, or if you want more water with no drama. When initially contacting the local driller, I suggest you ask for a budgetary price. If that does not scare you off, go further. Tell him that you currently have a deep two inch well.

Ultimately i will need a new well when i start landscaping and laying sod however a new well is not in the budget at this point, I think im going to purchase a 1HP Myers and see what happens, hopefully who ever i choose to purchase the pump from can hook me up with the matching ejector

Thank you very much for taking the time to reply
