I have a Kinetico water softener and the brine tank is flooding. The first time I caught it. I was able to manually open and close the float. I reinstalled it and the next day the hose at the float became disconnected. Is there anything I can do to keep it from sticking open?

Also, I have a spare float, but I do not know how to disconnect the hose. How to you disconnect this type of connector (pics below)?

Those are quick connect fittings. To disconnect, push and hold the Beige collar forward toward the Black connector body, then pull the tubing outward.
