Hi all,

I am adding a 3/4 bathroom to my basement and I'm trying to understand what the plumbing would look like. I plan on hiring a licensed plumber to do the rough plumbing, but I want to be knowledgeable so I can talk and understand his work.

The green line is where I think the main stack leads outside, based on where the cleanout is. If I look at where the cleanout is in relation to the main stack, the green arrow is where the cleanout points.

The above sketch shows where I thought I could put the bathroom.

If it helps, this drawing has measurements for that area. It seems like a 60" x 30" shower would work well in this corner.

Questions

  • What would the underground plumbing look like for the shower, toilet, and sink?
  • Is this a good layout in general for a bathroom? Where I put the shower, toilet, sink?
  • Is there a better spot for the bathroom within the basement?
Thank you for any advice. I know I have another post here too with questions, so I hope I'm not asking too many questions at once.
