Does anyone have another suggestion to mounting the hood, other than having to take out the sheetrock? We could not find any installation instructions prior to having our walls finished and didn't find out until after the sheetrock and painting were done that the installation requires you take out the sheetrock and have it redone. Since we just paid to have the sheetrock done, we do not want to have them come and re-do the job. Thanks.

I installed one of those a few months ago.

If you have attic access, its a piece of cake.

1- Line up the hood where you want it

2- Mark the location where the screws are supposed to penetrate the ceiling.

3- Drill some holes where you just marked.

4- Go into the attic and add some blocking between the trusses to hold the weight of the new hood where the holes are that you just created. Keep in mind that you'll be running a vent later and keep the blocking out of the way of the vent.

5- Go back to the kitchen and continue the install.
