FIRST TIME POSTER BUT 15 YEAR BELIEVER and FOLLOWER

First of all, I want to thank this amazing forum. I have learned so much. I have fully restored all the water, DWV and electrical in our 1906 home and I have spent COUNTLESS hours on this form reading about pex, DWV, boilers, and restoring radiators. Having a master plumber as a friend also helps!

My experience in water filtration is limited to my hobby rebuilding and refurbishing commercial espresso machines, softening, mineral add back, filtering.

Due to health issues, I need to remove Chloramine from what is otherwise very good Denver water. I have decided to install a whole house catalytic carbon filter. Denver water quite good, 160 TDS. Medium or less harness. No real taste, color or smell issues. As a cancer survivor, I am told to now filter out chloramine.

1. I am doing a upflow, non backwashing catalytic carbon filter. 10x52. I have no power or drain or height for a backwashing filter.

2. I was given a like new, Enpress Vortech 10x54 tank, Clack C1190 head, Clack C-Series bypass and elbows. Everything will be piped 1"

3. I have a "few" 20" and 10" Pentak BB housings. Drilled and tapped for gauges and SMC inline PVC ball valves for drains. The Pentak DGD 5005 and 2501 have been recommended

4. I was planning on using a Pentak BB 20" with DGD 5005 as the pre filter.

5. Should I use a BB 10" for a post filter, for carbon fines? Perhaps a Pentek DGD 2501?

6. Recommendations for the cat carbon? AS SEVERAL AMAZING CONTRIBUTORS (@Bannerman and @Fitter30) RIGHTLY POINT OUT: 95% on the net is salesmen advertising claims.

Thanks in advance for any comments.
