Just the drain, when we had copper piping there were expansion noises for both supply and drain lines. After a repipe with PEX, only the drain expansion noise remains.

My drain pipes make a loud ticking noise in the colder months whenever hot water is run through them. I've read this is from the expansion and contraction of the pipe rubbing against the wood framing. Has anyone here fixed this issue themselves? Haven't found any write-ups or videos of anyone...

Did you end up fixing the issue? I'm about to open up my walls to fix the same drain expansion ticking but am afraid it'll turn into your situation where nothing works.
