Was working fine, but cleaned it per manual with recommended cleaner. Now it will not make ice. It ran fine for 2 days after I cleaned it. Drain seems fine, although it is a little slow. I blew 90 psi air from end of drain pipe up into the ice bin and a little black specs came up into the ice bin. then I blew air down the drain hole in bottom of ice bin and it seems to be clear. Water flows to resevoir, but will not make ice. Ideas? thanks

The simplest things to check are the freezer thermostat--turn it down; the ice bin--make sure it is pushed in all the way, and the wire thingy that must be in the down position to make ice. I've even seen an on/off button by the icemaker that may have inadvertantly gotten shut off.
If it's none of those, it could be a solenoid that got messed up or disconnected or something else that may require a visit from the appliance technician. If it's under warranty, they may come out for free, since you were just cleaning it per their instructions.

thanks. It is a separate under the counter icemaker. there is no "wire" lever for ice flow. Probably need to call repair man. I read once if the drain is not completely open to allow quick drainage, then when the ice drops it will melt as the "resevoir" above (where the ice is made) flushes itself in the ice bin. And, if that water doesn't drain out fast then the ice melts.

Try pouring vinegar down that drain. You may have to let it warm up first in case there's some ice blockage.
eric, thanks. the drain is "relatively" clear. I poured about a gallon down it and it drained a little slow, but did drain. Problem is it is not making any ice.
I can't imagine what happened when I cleaned it. It was working, but noisy.

lou, there is no wire. the part that makes the ice is 1 foot above the bin...this is an under counter ice machine. it will not make any ice now.
the scotsman continually makes ice since the bin below is not cold enough to "hold" the ice (by design). But for some reason it won't make the ice at all now.

I got home tonite and turned it on again. it is not spraying water. yes, the water is turned on. This means the pump is probably bad. but it is just a little to coincidental that the pump would go bad after it was cleaned. And remember, it worked fine for about 2 days after it was cleaned.
I guess time to call technician.

High pressure air jet may not have helped...you could have blown a connection apart or inverted a rubber seal.
