Dishwasher Drain

Does the dishwasher drain have to come in above the trap or can it come in below?

The tail piece that the DW hose connects to goes between the sink and the trap. Just remember the rule: All drains must be trapped.

And...the hose from the DW needs to be looped (pulled up) higher than the point of connection to keep the sink drain from backing up inside the dishwasher.
