Freestanding tub

How would one of these stay fixed? Are they attached to the floor in any manner?... besides the drain of course. (Its acrylic, so fairly light)

Also, to install one of these, would I: have a hole ready in the floor, attach drain pipe to tub, then set tub in place- drain through hole, connect p-trap from below. Is there anything strange to be aware of or preparation one would need to make?

My guess is the instructions call for caulking it around the base...if that's done, it should essentially 'glue' it in place. Have you searched the manufacturer's website for instructions?

Thanks. Yea looked for install notes. Its a whittington tub and all their site does is direct me to signature hdwre website. I imagine caulk is one of the only options, i'll see once its sitting on the tile what that looks like. Thanks again.

Did you ever consider using a galvanized metal oval horse trough? It might look a bit more rustic/old west but would be cheaper.

The problem is that the acrylic tub would probably break down from UV exposure out in the pasture...

Totally not important, but what I was thinking was... If he put the horse trough in the bathroom, then the acrylic bathtub would be needed out in the pasture for the horses to drink out of. I don't think that would be good, because the plastic would probably degrade.
