Loosing Pressure

What would cause a two zone index valve system to loose pressure in one Zone? I don't believe there is a leak in the zone because if I open the hose bib between the pump and the index valve the zone doesn't loose pressure. Also if I remove the disk in the index valve so both zones run at the same time the pump doesn't loose pressure. Could it be a leak in the suction line?
