Do you have a link for what are the different types of medis that is supposed to be used in a chem free setup like I have? Which media should be used for iron and manganese? There is white residue near the fill hole of the tank. Any Idea what media was used?

Sorry, I can't teach you water treatment and there is no link to go to to learn it but... there is no "supposed to be used" media, there are a number of differing minerals that possibly can be used based on the water chemistry and the volume of water you are going to treat.

The residue could be from AN mineral or air etc. in the basement.
