I removed the rusted metal ring from the toilet flange in my bathroom and had planned to replace it with the Moss Bay stainless steel ring. Getting ready to install it though, I don't believe it will work properly in my case. The old ring was made with an integral collar that wrapped around the pvc pipe portion of the flange and provided solid support. (The flange is 4" with a 1/2" lip on the top that in turn, sat on top of the metal ring.) The inside edge of the Moss Bay replacement will slide under the lip of the flat top portion of the pvc, but only about 1/8 inch. Old posts on this forum say that edge is designed to slide into a ridge on the pvc where the old ring rode. Since mine was not designed that way, the Moss Bay replacement does not appear to be compatible. I would need a replacement ring with about 1/2 inch rim to reach all the way under the lip and sit against the pipe. I certainly would appreciate any suggestions and recommendations. Thanks in advance for your help!
