Hello all. Without going into great detail about who dropped the ball on this one--I've got a stop valve sitting somewhere inside a run of 4" iron pipe. Because of miscommunication the toilet was installed and used for a day before it could be retrieved. Now it isn't visible to grab. It's somewhere inside a 12' run to a tee, then 6' to the exterior wall. Both are horizontal. Tried everything; shop vac, long grabber, all to no avail. Now I'm thinking of of just running a load of water down hoping to push it to the exterior cleanout and catch it there. If that doesn't work, I'm actually kicking around the idea of just leaving it, betting that it will eventually flow out and not cause a backup. Probably won't happen. Any ideas? Thanks.

IT will NOT flow with the water, and it WILL cause a stoppage, in fact many of them, because each time the stoppage is cleared the obstruction will move a short distance down the drain line then cause another stoppage later. My RIdgid "SeeSnake" with its 'hook' would find it and retrieve it, if it is within the length of the probe.
