Two weeks ago we discovered some leaking copper pipes in the basement that were coming from the well pump. We replaced them but now our water has a metalic smell to it. It was fine before and our water tasted good. Also, our toilets are turning orange from the water, however, it can be cleaned off and isn't staining. Any thoughts? Someone told us to run the water for awhile so we did, but it's been 2 weeks now.

Were these pipes near the well or pressure tank? I would run a hose from the drain valve at the pressure tank to outside, and run a bunch of water. Maybe turn off the pump a few times with the breaker to let the pressure tank expel accumulated rust.
