The water pressure regulator installed near the main water shut off value just started leaking. Would anyone know what causes the leaking ? I noticed the leaking started after I shut off and restored the main water supply to fix shower faucet leak. Also, will it be safe if I try to use "Flex Tape" to fix the leak ? Will applying this temporary cause more problems (e.g. burst pipes or burst water pressure regulator). Any suggestions and helps will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

Leaking out the top? Bad diaphragm needs either a rebuild kit or a new one. If screws holding the top on rusted replace it.

Thanks for your quick response. I have not found the exactly location on the regulator. It seems to be from the top. The screw holding the top is not rusted.
