Hello - does anyone have experience to share regarding the relative noise level of wall hung toilets vs. traditional floor mounted toilets AND and differences between manufacturers and models of wall hung toilets?

Thank you very much

Assuming the tank parts are the same, noise levels will be similar. For example, if it's a gravity flush using a tower or flapper(s), then noise levels will be pretty low.
If it's a pressure assist in the tank, where compressed air is used to force the flush, then those will be noticeably louder.
I was replacing toilets at the Crystal Mountain Ski area in Washington State,, and they pretty quickly decided that there would be no more pressure assist toilets there. Many of the bathrooms are back to back, and we found that the Gerber Maxwell wall hung toilets worked well with less noise.

Gerber Maxwell wall hung, with the gravity tank.

Now if you're talking wall hung with Flushometer valves, like used in a commercial setting with a 1" water line supply, those can be off the charts for noise.

A/S Glenwall is a noisy flush.

Thanks for the quick reply - we will be using a Geberit in wall carrier for the tank but the actual bowl is still uncertain. From what you’re saying I gather the noise level probably won’t vary much based on the bowl used.

Not a lot of differences.
Geberit makes a superior carrier assembly (vs Toto or Kohler). You always have to use Geberit trim on such. Trim btwn mfrs is not interchangeable. Bowls are universal.
Avoid 2 x 4 wall style, too hard to service. Overall, you will not find a lot of plumbers who can service in-wall well. Whereas, conventional WCs are sooo easy in most cases.

I may be limited to the 2x4 option for the carrier due to the floor space available (about 44“ to 46”). What makes the 2x6 easier to service?

Thanks
