Sump pump - replace pump or repair switch after stuck on ?

Got up this morning and heard a hum from basement. Zoeller 53D stuck on pumping no water. Unit was warm, plug was warm. Float no effect. Likely switch failure. Was just going to replace the switch but 2 things bugging me:

  1. With it being left on and running hot for undetermined period of time, possibly damaged or other components?
  2. Inside switch housing obvious signs of some water and corrosion. See pic below.

Smooky's right. Start over with new stuff. You could monkey around with it and maybe get it to function, but how long will it last?
