Schedule 80 Pipe in place of Cast Iron

Need to replace move drain stack between first floor and second floor. Current cast iron stack is probably about 70 years old. Can't save the stack most likely and I want to keep the sound transmission low. Could I use 4" schedule 80 pipe instead of replacing with no hub cast iron?

No. I hope your talking about plastic. But the ID of sched 80 will be smaller than what you have in place now. If for some reason the ID is the same (cast iron can have some odd dimensions) then you could, but why not just keep the material consistent?

Schedule 80 might be even better than solid schedule 40 PVC. That was not included in the testing in this video:

Stick with no-hub cast iron. It is superior...and JG is right, can't use Sch 80 PVC bc of ID...never

Sched 80 also won't be soundproof. In my state we cannot place PVC between cast iron on the vertical for the fact that PVC swells 3/8" per 10' when heated 100 degrees and can gradually loosen old lead/oakum joints.
