This probably has been covered, but couldn't find it in the search bar.
putting my pump down to 200' in a 450' well. is it better to use rope or ss cable for protection against lost of the pump. will be using 1 1/4" PVC well drop pipe sch 120w/ss couplers. pump will be a 1 1/2hp 4" stainless. I see some have 1/8" ss t316 steel wire/cable with a 2000# rating. any chance of that rusting out. Looking at the price I'm sure its overseas. is an American made good rope a better option
Also when doing this is it better to attach the rope or cable to the drop pipe along with the wiring or let it hang loose (as they say)
