Replacing gasket in roman bathtub faucet handle

Hi there, I believe the gasket in one of my faucet handles needs replacing. How do I remove it ? What is this gasket called so I can buy and replace it ? Any special instructions for inserting the new gasket ? Are there any other issues I should address based on this picture ? Thank you.
