I have a situation I need the communities help. We used to have a tub which had a tiled frame around it. To our surprise when we remove it we found this vent. We intend to put a free standing tub but need the vent pipe to be hidden. There is a header/beam in the way. I don’t want to cut into that. Any suggestions? What’s the right way to do this ?

How about a view of the entire bathroom, with the path of any out-of-sight drain pipes marked on it, as well as the desired footprint and drain location of the free standing tub?

If this drain doesn't happen to be close to the lav drain, or to a wall you can access to run a vent in, your only option may be to box in the vent you have (possibly moving or reducing the size of the box a little).

Cheers, Wayne
