Have a RL-50 sprinkler pump that would not stay primed. Thought I would inspect impeller for debris, seal etc. Took off four bolts, the two halves will turn all around on shaft , but I can't pull the two halves apart more than half inch. Equal pressure on both sides with crowbars, prybars no luck. Is there another bolt to remove? or it is possibly rusted together?

Here's the manual, disassembly instructions page 2. Might want to replace shaft seal while apart.
There are some you tube videos on these pumps.

The impeller has nothing to do with losing prime. But if you mess up that seal it will be a problem.
Never have i pulled a pump apart without having a seal , gaskets and in larger pumps a bronze sleeve that the seal rides on instead of the shaft.Seal can leak air and not water if the pump is pulling a slight vacuum. Seal can fail in minute without water to cool and lubricate the faces.
