So I'm looking at a potential remodel of my own residence. There was never any plumbing in the concrete here so everything was built up on platforms here.

I'm thinking about an arrangement where I could do away with that. I would have to run toilet drains (3") within the wall.

My understanding is I could get away with this with a 2x6 (this is a non-load bearing wall). Would I have to drill holes through these 2x6 or could I notch them with straps over the notches?

Sorry for the crude plans here, just something i put together in Illustrator.
