Hi folks. I’m new here and thought I’d share my in progress replacement of my PB plumbing with PEX-A. Attached are pictures of my progress on the manifold so far.
As of now, I’ve run my 1” main, 3/4” to/from water heater, and all 5 of my 3/4” cold supplies (4 hose bibs with full port 3/4” valves and 1 future expansion that will be capped off for now). Tomorrow I’ll get started on my other fixtures, all of which will be 1/2”. My goal is to have no fittings whatsoever between each manifold valve and it’s respective fixture. Additionally, I tried to design this manifold for maximum flow, and went with home run for the same reason. I figured if I’m doing all this work, might as well do it overkill!
Edit: I can’t seem to get my pictures to post, but I’ll try a different host.

I think a 1" main with 1/2" branches would be plenty overkill, depending on your lengths, static pressure, and demand. But generally running 3/4 to everything doesn't help. If your fixture gives you 1 gpm your going to get 1 gpm. Unless your pressure is low and your climbing a lot of elevation 1/2" pipe should be plenty for branches. Sometimes a shower might want more, but you also have to heat and or dump/waste the cold water before you shower in it.

Sounds good to me , I think running 3/4 to hose bibs is a good idea . and 1/2 inch to other fixtures will be good.
