The depth to pumping water level is ground level to the top of the water correct?
Pretty much. It's more like altitude change from the pressure switch to the water surface if splitting hairs, or if there is much slope in the land.

The water level yesterday was 330ft. My 3/4HP pump was having trouble with that. It doesn't look like a 1HP pump would do much better at that depth. If I were to drop the pump even lower, I'd most likely need 1.5HP pump, right?

If the pump is 7 gpm, probably 1.5 is enough. Grundfos 7S15-26 is enough IMO. Others may suggest even more. If you go with a 1.5 hp pump, consider a 3-wire pump with control box.

Check the curves/tables for the same brand and model of pump you would be considering.

Water level seems to be back up to the normal level this morning. Glad it got back up. Just wish I knew why recovery was so low now.

Just thinking out loud, could iron or manganese build up cause recovery rate to lower?

Edit: I found the well completion report and called the company that drilled it. They didn't hydrofrack when it was drilled because the bedrock was very soft.

Is a soft bedrock a bad thing?
