Hi Folks,

I've got a well that I will be plumbing to the cabin that I am building in Idaho this summer. I've gotten a lot of good information from reading the posts on this site.

The well is 160' deep with a 6" casing in granite. The recovery rate was 10 gpm when we drilled it 5 years ago.The static head this year, due to our lack of snow last winter, is about 20' below ground level. My first question is - How deep should I put the pump?

Our cabin will be a simple one story, 1 bedroom and 1 bath. After doing a lot of reading, I was planning to use a 1/2 hp submersible pump with the CSV PSIde-kick kit for my water supply. Do you think that this set up will be sufficient for normal use?

Thanks for the help & I'm sure I'll have more questions later,

Rainier

That all sounds good except that 1/2 HP, 10 GPM pump can only produce that much is the water level stay above about 50'. You might want to use a 3/4 HP, 10 GPM in case the water level pulls down more than 50'.
