Kenmore ultrasoft 400 seized

My ultrasoft 400 shows err1. The motor turns, but the main gear does not. I freed the gear up with penetrating oil and plyers. It's stiff but will turn. A few of the teeth are worn off by the motor spinning. It will turn until the worn spot gets to the motor. So I ordered a new gear and cam (part 55).
I don't see how to get the old one off. I'm afraid of damaging something by forcing it apart.

Never mind. I figured it out. Just needed a bit more brute force and it came right apart. I thought there might be a thread or clip to remove first.
