Keep boiler warm

I have Weil McLane WGO with Hydrostat 3250+. I have a 1 zone baseboard system. I have a separate electric hot water tank. My boiler is in an unheated basement. I use a wood stove for much of the time until outside temps get down to mid 20"s. The boiler does not usually come on except for occasionally during the night. Basement temperatures get to the low 50's.

Can I use the low water temperature option on the 3250+ to maintain my boiler temperature @ 100 degrees F to limit thermal stress even though there is no domestic hot water coil or zone?

I think keeping your boiler warm will cause the boiler to cycle on and off a lot.

The burners are pretty big and meant to heat a whole house. Just warming the boiler will probably make it go on off on off on off.

You could try it. Depending on how your controls are setup your circulator might want to cycle with the boiler. You might have some work to setup the system like this.

WGO has minimum boiler temp 160° with a return temp 140° page 21. Look at valves #7. Minimum water temp is so the boiler keeps It from condensating.
