Jet tub don’t pump

Hey guys I need some expert advice. Our jet tub pump went out. So I replaced the pump. But when I fill the tub up it does nothing. I can loosen the outlet line with pump going and then water will come out the jets. But every time the tub is drained it does it again.
Any advice?

Sounds like an air lock of some sort, unless you did not reassemble pump parts properly.

There wasn’t any parts to assemble. Unscrew the two lines and unplug the old pump and put the new one in. It air lock I think but why? That kinda of pump shouldn’t airlock I would think.
