Hello,
I've installed an undersink water filtration system and used the existing sprayer hose hole to have the faucet sit.

I'm trying to install a new hose that will be kept under the sink.

Several attempts and the hose is leaking where it connects underneath the sink. Pics 1 thru 6 are the hose and 7 thru 10 are the underneath the sink.
Since these pictures. I have cleaned the threading in pic 10 so pics 7-10 are before I cleaned it. I also used plumbers tape around the threading at pic 6. Should I have done that? Should I be using plumber's tape at all? In terms of tightening, I used a quarter turn, then turn on the water and repeat the process to avoid over tightening. It still is leaking a little.

Very cramped under there so I can't get plumbers tape around the threading in pic 10.

Instead of the hose, is there an easy way to just cap the connection in pics 7 thru 10? I've been using a basin wrench which does the trick in this cramped space.

Looking for the easiest DYI solution here. Thank you for any insight!
