Hi,
I want to have a small training farm in my back yard (one or two horses/ponies) and I would like to get running water in my barn. There is an outside pump to water flowers etc. but I dont know how I should go about this. Hire someone? Have my dad to it?
Thanks!

Hmm... how much money do you want to spend? That's the first question you want to ask yourself. If you or your Dad have the ability/skills then go for it. Too, do you want automatic waterers or just a tub with a spigot you have to fill up once or more every day? How many stalls do you want to put water in? For someone who's experienced this is a piece of cake job. If you're in the cold parts of the country you'll have to put pipe far enough in the ground to protect it from freezing. In my area (Alabama) a 12" inch minimum works fine just to protect it from damage by getting run over by vehicles, etc. Once it comes out of the ground it has to be protected from the animals and from freezing.
