I recently purchased a Gleco trap to catch clay sediment in my art studio sink. Today I discovered that the outgoing pipe was installed too low for an easy installation. I hope that there is a way to adapt the pipes to allow for installation of the Gleco trap. I am posting a photo of the trap next to the pipes as they exist now. Is this a situation that I can possibly remedy myself? If not, would a professional plumber be able to do it? Thank you in advance for your help.

I don't know how that thing is supposed to connect, but I would suspect you would elevate it quite a bit. What if you set it on a cinder block or so?

Does the tailpiece of the sink go into the hole over the top of the bottle or into that side arm?

You have a tail piece extension that you would probably get rid of. Maybe you would cut the tailpiece (the white pipe from the sink drain) shorter.
