We had a brand new well put in a few weeks ago. Got the professional lab test back with POSITIVES for both coliform and e coli.
I shocked the well (and all interior lines - bypassing the water softener) , let sit 24 hours, then flushed it all as much as feasible.
So, looking to come up with a "better" (read cheaper & more convenient) method to do ongoing testing, I found COLISCAN EASYGEL product.

Anyone here use this? It seems way better than those basic liquid bottle tests ya get from Amazon. (those show only a pass/fail result and may not even be reliable anyway).
I can get a kit of 10 Coliscan tests for less than ONE test at my local lab.

The COLISCAN can show an actual colony count of E.coli. Not that it matters so much as ANY amount would be deemed non-drinkable. But I am MOST concerned in its' reputation.

Also, on a similar subject.... Anyone use SANI- SYSTEM to disinfect their water softener? I need to get the bacteria out of the resin tank also and was told by the manufacturer (AQUASURE) to NOT use chlorine. But they had no other suggestion besides ResCare to clean the tank.

THANKS!
