I was replacing a shower drain shoe, the rim that's on the shower floor broke off, leaving the piece below stuck in the pipe/tubing. It was attached to a rubber tube. Is there anything I can do to fix it?

I would remove the overflow cover, and pull the linkage on the lever.

See https://terrylove.com/forums/index....b-difficulty-with-shaft-in-overflow-tube.889/

Ideally the broken piece comes up with the hair. I had to tug really hard to get my piston-type out.

Another thing you could try is to rotate a closet auger down that drain, to see if you could snag your gadget. However I think you will want to pull the linkage to remove the hair anyway.

There's no loose part, the bottom portion of the shoe is still threaded into the part underneath the tub.
