So we are doing an extension on my house and I want to move to PEX piping at least for my extension. I issue is I like the distribution blocks for PEX but I realize I may not be able to use them since rest of the house was done the old way. think its called the branch system. Is it ok to just run a 3/4 inch pipe to all the rooms I need water and just branch out with a multiport tee. or should I use the distribution block and just run the lines for the old part of the house later?

Water systems are sized with charts and based on fixtures, length of pipe, pressure, and elevation.

Using a manifold system should mean you don't need 3/4" in most cases. It also means your running more pipe.

Running 3/4" everywhere will work just like framing every room of a house with 2x12's will work. It's just kinda silly.
