Delta 600, I've made it worse

In attempting to fix a slow drip by replacing seals I've over-torqued a bonnet nut and twisted my shower valve. A familiar story of a homeowner screwing up I'm sure. It looks like what I've seen here described as a delta 600. I've turned it 90 degrees. It isn't leaking now and my question is this: how long would it be safe to use it in this condition?

Tomorrow, or 20 years from now. In other words, no way to say. I am surprised that is is not already leaking if you twisted it that far. Around here, someone, often another plumber, would probably be calling me to fix it.
