CPVC pipe glue on PVC

Fixing a sprinkler system made of PVC.
I purchased some Oate CPVC glue instead of PVC.
The can says it works on both, but the glue was kinda lumpy. The lumps seemed to go away when I stirred it.
Is the CPVC glue ok for PVC?

If the can says it'll work for pvc then it'll work for pvc. You local code/inspector may require a certain glue that is a certain color for inspection purposes.

Also Code may have changed but in some codes primer may be required by code even if the product is listed to be used with or without primer. Generally following manufactures requirement is sufficient but some times code can be stricter
