Hey all, just purchased a whirlpool water softener from an auction and the brine well tube is cracked as you can see in the picture. Is there an easy way to fix this? Could I just buy a cheap 4" tube and put some slots in at the bottom?

@DYNoob I don't know the toxic leaching properties of PVC drain pipe for use in a softener, but if you can get some pro advice on that, I don't see why not, taking care to mimic the slots. It should also have a bolt hole for fastening to the tank. That yellow salt depth gauge strip is a handy thing to have, if it can be salvaged and attached to the new tube.
