Hey y’all,

I am having issues getting hot water through a bathroom faucet (10 year old), and so I thought I’d replace the supply line and/or the faucet. However, as you can see from the attached photo, I have an extremely tight space and can’t even get the basin wrench around the nut. Any advise on what I can do to uninstall the supple line?

Also, any thoughts on how I could uninstall the v-clip that you see in the second image? My thought was to get the faucet out with the supple lines intact, but the v-clips seems to be blocking me from pulling it out.

Much appreciated.

You may be able to backflush the hot side by taking it loose from the stop and putting the loose end in a bucket. Flip on the cold a few times while holding a rag over the spout to direct the flow back down the hot side. If the line is clogged with debris from a disintegrated washer, you'll need to fix that first. I think if you need to remove the faucet anyway, it will take an Allen wrench down through the top after removing the pop up rod.

If a standard basin wrench won't fit which I've experience way too many times you can try either Ridgid's new stye basic wrench (picture attached) or even using a appropriate size thin wall socket with a long ratchet extension with ratchet to get the old fixture off. This is provided you can remove the supply line off the old faucet first. Chances are if you are experience all this aggravation I would just swap out the whole faucet as chances are you will have to do this again when the faucet misbehaves.

This looks like a toggle bolt to me. Is that what it is?
