Air injection iron filter causes sputtering from faucet

I had the same problem of sputtering faucets. System has been in place for 7 years and suddenly the problem occurred. I rebuilt the head and still had the issue. I installed a Valmatic 15a in line right after the filter and no longer have sputtering.

Does the val matic being made of iron affect water quality downstream?
