I made a rookie mistake and didn't fit the drain to the pan before setting it in place and now i found it's misaligned by about 3/8" not allowing the top half of the drain to screw in. I am looking for a way to get it to align or a way to rework the drain without reworking the rest of the pan and sheetrock.

In the pictures below the drain comes from the left.

Opening from below to repair the problem is impossible due to lower level walls and floor joists.

Stick a hammer handle down the drain and see if it will push over enough to line up. If so, prep the piece with dope and putty, run it up the handle, stick the handle down the drain, push it over and screw it in.
