Hello, I'm trying to service my valve stems on an old Kohler 3 valve shower. My problem is the escutcheon for the diverter just spins free in both directions and will not come off of the stem. I tried to slip a putty knife behind it to apply a little pressure but, that didn't help. I'd like to try to get it off without cutting off as I'm not sure I can get a replacement.
