I need to replace a mid-1990's era 3.5 gal American Standard Cadet -- it doesn't clear the bowl the way it used to (yes, I've tried plunging and using a closet auger, clearing the rim holes, etc). I'd like to put in a Drake, as we have two others in the house that we like. But the finished wall to bolt distance is 10 5/8".
I know Terry has said on this forum that he's put in Drakes with 10 7/8" rough ins, but until I take out the old toilet, no way to know if I can move the bolts another 1/4". A 10" rough Drake will leave a big space behind the tank.
Any ideas on the best way to approach this? Thanks, all.
